Best Longboarding Series | Long Treks on Skate Decks

One of the best Longboards that have proven itself is the Rayne Demonseed deck. Withstanding the worst conditions that any longboarder can imagine. It was captured in video when Paul Kent, Adam Colton and Aaron Enevoldsen went on the longest trek using skate decks from Lima, Peru to Potosi,Bolivia. One of the boards did give way during the trek, but after having a heavy beating like that, it's understandable. Imagine skating in broken rocky pavement while battling the elements at the same time.

Withstanding rains, mud, ice, and even dogs that were a constant welcome committee for the 3 gringos as they pass by the surrounding towns of Bolivia.

The series will speak for itself. Enjoy!

Best Longboard video from the Long treks on Skate decks series

After watching the whole series of Long Treks on Longboards, I thought that the scene where Adam Colton does a 360 spin was just special effects. But in fact, it was shot in a salt field! They captured a perfect view of the horizon and the clouds from the shots of this amazing bonus video. For the first time viewers of this video, I suggest that you watch the series from the start. You'll see a side of longboarding in a different light.

Makes me think of doing my own long treks on my longboard.

Why do we longboard?

In this age of Playstation 3, Iphone of all versions, insanely expensive DLSRs, and whatever gadgets that you can think of that will surely burn a hole in your wallet. Why is there suddenly a cult following for Longboard Skateboards? Surprisingly, most of the people who are getting are in their late 30's. Is it because of nostalgia? or is the culture going back to what it was before in the late 80's and 90's? Where everything is simple and everyone is out having a great time in the sun with their BMX's and fiberglass skateboards.

I remember I had one with an eagle as the deck's graphic. and no matter how bad i treat it, it didn't really break at all. That's how tough it was! So after 20 years, you can just imagine how today's longboards are. With different offerings such as sandwiched fiberglass bamboo, to fine broken glass as replacement to grip tape. To different trucks and wheels that gave a new following for the color Orange and Purple!

But still the question is there. Why would we risk being bruised going downhill,be burned under the scorching sun just to enjoy longboarding? We as human beings tend to be bored easily, and I think the thrill that Longboarding gives quenches our desire for the extreme! What's next? The reincarnation of the ATARI?

Featuring Madrid Longboarding by Juan Rayos: Around the city in Longboards

Managed to chance upon these video posts from the blog Whitezine .
"We are still wondering how did this video got 56.000 views and yet we didn’t see it. Huge fans of Longboarding and surfing in the city by ride, we loved this 9 minutes video made in the Spanish streets of Madrid. Made by Juan Rayos with a Canon 5D MarkII"

The shots were just amazing. Reminds me of music videos from the Beastie Boys. The scenery is just spectacular. Gives me a reason to visit the city of Madrid.
