Martin Siegrist and the Fuse Airflow Skateboards

Designed by three time downhill world champion Martin Siegrist, the Fuse from Airflow Skateboards is one of a kind due to the 3D concave that gives you the awareness of your footing. With a low center of gravity and a twin tip design, versatility is the best word as you use it as a free-ride board or satisfy your hunger for downhill longboarding.

Maryhill Festival of Speed 2011 Downhill longboarding

One of the biggest events of the year in downhill longboarding is the Maryhill Festival of Speed. Best known for it's challenging technical turns at amazing speeds that any longboarder or luge rider would take just to quench the thirst of adrenalin.

Now on it's 5th year, you would know that longboarding is building momentum as more people are being introduced to the sport.

Maryhill Downhill Free-ride event - the best downhill longboarding

With the coming Maryhill Festival of Speed that will take place tomorrow June 29 to July 3, 2011. The video below is a taste of the Maryhill downhill free-ride event last April 2011, produced by Skate[Slate]

You'll notice the camaraderie that each rider has with each other as they do a tight turn, literally supporting each other out. Another thing is the passion of filming their runs as you see the cameras on their helmets. I know it's cheesy but this is what longboarding is all about! Adrenalin rush, leather digs and gritty looking helmets!

The new Maestro has arrived: Bustin Boards

I am still in awe after seeing the new Fiberglass Maestro from Bustin boards' website. The level of customization that you can see realtime as you pick your choice of Trucks, Bearing, and Wheels is impressive! You can finally choose what you want based on your riding style and budget  at the comfort of your own pajamas.

Another thing is the way they presented the information about this new design composite is just down to earth clear! If you're new to longboarding you'll surely get what the board can do without the jargon and technicality that most brands say about their products. Anyway, it's better to target the new people who are starting out with longboarding right?

It's been a pleasure to watch most of the videos of Bustin in youtube as the riders go at it and battle the busy and crazy traffic of New York. Definitely a new deck to watch.

Annihilate everything with the Battle Axe Landyachtz longboard

After watching the video below I suddenly knew why this board is currently out of stock. The slides that they can do with this board looks effortless. Another tempting buy from Landyachtz longboards, The Battle Axe!

...apparently, there's one in Amazon.

The speedboard of New York - Earthwing Supermodel Skateboards

Passion is one word I can use to describe what Earthwing Skateboards has accomplished since Brian Petrie started the company in the 1990's. Going DIY shaping broken snowboards into longboard decks is the idea that brought forth Earthwing longboards. The speed that he had access on a skateboard fueled his passion and idea of building the best longboards in New York City.

Fulfillment has finally arrived after winning the Broadway Bomb race using a  Supercharger prototype by rider Ian Nichols in 2003. It gained a lot of attention as drop through decks with a carefully thought out design were not common. After that Earthwing decks were in demand.
I especially like the new Earthwing Supermodel series. The design of the board itself has this angled rugged look at first but slowly transcends to a smooth comfortable looking board. The graphics of Earthwing boards has this New York feel to it giving a sense of the industrial iconic structures of the city.

Longboarding Tricks: Big Stand Up Slides

Another trick tip for anyone who's aiming to progress into technical longboard slides.

The Apex 34 - The Twin Sibling of the Apex 37 brings more possibilities to the pavement

I personally have a huge appreciation for Original Skateboards due to the way their decks are designed. The simplicity is what lured me in. Another thing that really caught my attention is the way the trucks are engineered. Knowing that you can customize your  trucks with tension springs based on how you weigh adds that personal attachment to your board. Another thing is the patented WaveCam that serves as the flux capacitor that works with the single tension spring.

Then comes the line of decks, one of which is the famous Apex 34. The twin sibling of the Apex 37 but a bit shorter in length, shares the same twin-tip longboard shape ideal to keep you going with slides and spins without worrying about the nose or tail. Basically, both can be either!

It is perfect for cruising and carving and gives you more control in technical stunts as it is 30% lighter than the Apex 37. Imagining the possibilities have never been this great.

The design beneath the deck is as simple as it gets, but gives recognition that you are riding an Apex 34.

Sadly, it is still out of stock. However, Original may still have blemished Factory seconds for sale. Just call them up at 1-800-619-5579 or visit the site as well.
